Danish nouns are either common gender (en) or neuter (et): 'en bog' (a book) vs 'et hus' (a house). About 75% are en-words, but there's no reliable pattern. The gender affects articles, adjectives, and pronouns. DeepL assigns correct gender.
Definite article as suffix
Like Swedish and Norwegian, Danish attaches the definite article: 'bog' → 'bogen' (the book), 'hus' → 'huset' (the house). With adjectives, a double-definite construction appears: 'det store hus' or 'det store huset'. DeepL handles both patterns.
Compound words — one word, no spaces
