Expand an image beyond its current frame.

Use the PortraitBot Canvas action to extend the current working image for a wide Web canvas, a LinkedIn banner, or more space at the sides.

Extend Image is the Canvas action in PortraitBot: it keeps the current image as the source and generates new surrounding pixels for one of three layouts — LinkedIn banner, wide Web, or extend sides.

What costs balance

Reading the guide and opening the bot are free. Canvas generation uses Portrait USD Balance only after the expanded image is successfully delivered. A Portrait Pass is not required.

How to extend an image

    Open PortraitBot with the button above.

    Use an existing delivered image, or send a fresh photo.

  3. 03

    Open Tools → Canvas and choose LinkedIn banner, wide Web, or extend sides.

    Review the delivered expansion and repeat only if you want another composition.

What outpainting cannot guarantee

  • It is not a simple crop or resize
  • New edge content is generated and may vary
  • It does not restore details that were never visible
  • If you arrive without an image, the bot first asks for a photo, then offers Tools → Canvas
  • The source and result must pass normal safety and quality checks

Image-extension questions

Is Extend Image the same as resizing?
No. Resizing changes dimensions; Canvas generates plausible surrounding content beyond the source frame.
Which layouts are available?
The current Canvas picker offers LinkedIn banner, wide Web, and extend sides.
Will the center of my image stay identical?
The current image anchors the expansion, but the action is generative and a perfectly pixel-identical center is not promised.
When does it use Portrait USD Balance?
Only after the expanded image is successfully delivered.
